Primary Function

Develop existing and new accounts in Western Canada region.This position is not a stay in the office position. Strong party customer contact, and interactions are required. All activities in the relationship building process with customers are to be practiced. Daily lunches, office meetings, industry functions, golfing, sporting events etc. are to be done on a routine basis. All activities are to enhance TAM’S relationships with our customers and to drive our culture of new products and innovation through the delivery of “Excellence at the well-site”. In addition, the Business Development Manager will assist with 3rd party customers end- user engagements, technical assistance, and relationship building where the business drivers make sense.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for developing and implementing account plans for all assigned accounts that support:

  • Specific product line sales goals 
  • Customer initiatives and anticipated needs.
  • Strategies and responsibility for calling on assigned customers including targeted buyers, non-buyers, influencers and giving presentations where required.

Account Management

  • Responsible for TAM Region Market approach to assigned accounts.
  • Hold account-specific sales meetings with the appropriate Company Representative on an as-needed basis. Coordinate with Director of Operations, Service Managers to ensure proper account/customer coverage in the event of absences due to training, team member illness, etc.

Skills and Abilities

Responsible for developing and implementing account plans for all assigned accounts that support:

  • Specific product line sales goals
  • Customer initiatives and anticipated needs
  • Strategies and responsibility for calling on assigned customers including targeted buyers, non-buyers, influencers and giving 
 presentations where required
  • Provide Product Line Management with frequent, timely feedback on account performance (share, potential, and competitive 
 position) to facilitate planning.
  • Develop sales strategy to ensure direct customer contact in the areas as assigned by manager.

Key Compentencies

  • Responsible for TAM Region Market approach to assigned accounts.
  • Hold account-specific sales meetings with the appropriate Company Representative on an as-needed basis. Coordinate with

  • Call on key account buyers/influencers, and when necessary, coordinate with operations and other TAM marketing members on 
 problem/difficult accounts.
  • Enter sales opportunities in CRM as required to indicate sales activity and historical data.
